Education

    The Coe Foundation for Archaeological Research, Inc. (CFAR) promotes responsible stewardship of North Carolina's archaeological resources in part through education and other efforts increase public awareness of North Carolina's archaeological heritage.

    PROJECTS

  • Donation of funds to North Carolina Archaeological Council to support N.C. Archaeology Month poster
  • Donation of funds for publication of Projectile Point Guide, Uwharrie Lithics Conference
  • Partnership with N.C. Department of Cultural Resources and Chapel Hill Training Outreach Project for Preliminary development of N.C. Archaeology Discovery Kit, a supplemental resource for teachers and students featuring an eight-chapter book, replicated artifacts and educational posters
  • Design and printing of projectile point chronology posters
  • Donation of funds for processing radiocarbon dates, W. Terrell thesis, Wake Forest University
  • Conducted numerous archaeology and primitive technology demonstrations for schools, museums and historical sites throughout North Carolina
  • Development of CFAR web page
  • Donation of artwork to N.C. Office of State Archaeology Research Center (OSARC)
  • Conducted training workshops for Native American teachers, Robeson County Public School system
  • Conduct training workshop, North Carolina Museum of History docents
  • Conduct special seminar and fieldwork project for Anson County High School students
