    • Small, broad, thin blade with narrow side-notches and recurved, concave base
  • Form
    • Blade is small, broad, thin with a narrow U-shaped notch. Typically had shape of equilateral triangle below notch.
    • Base is recurvate, concave and ground
    • Side-notch is narrow, deep and U-shaped
    • Size: Length = 28 mm - 50 mm (average 35mm), Width = 23 mm - 35 mm (average 25 mm), thickness averages 4 mm.

    • 10,000 – 9,000 BCE
  • Material
    • Major: Rhyolite and andesite
    • Minor: Argillite and “Carolina” slate
    • In general, more highly silicified rock was used
  • Technique of Manufacture
    • Generally same as for Hardaway except all edges carefully reworked
