Going Home Again: Artifacts Collection from "Dixieland"
As the youngest of eight children, noted author Thomas Wolfe spent his
childhood and formative years in "The Old Kentucky Home," his mother Julia’s
boardinghouse in downtown Asheville. Today a North Carolina State Historic
Site, this famous Victorian style residence was immortalized as "Dixieland" in
Wolfe’s autobiographical novel, Look Homeward, Angel. Be sure to check
out this Flash presentation highlighting artifacts from this site.
